Centrist Democrats scramble House drug pricing effort

Biden’s drug pricing plan, a key piece of the Democratic healthcare agenda, was blocked out of the Energy & Commerce committee by three centrist Democrats, Reps. Scott Peters (D-CA), Kathleen Rice (D-NY) and Kurt Schrader (D-OR). Critics were quick to point out that all three of these reps receive significant corporate donations from Pharma groups and enjoy relatively safe seats in Democratic districts.
