As Democrats and Republicans in the Senate play political tug of war over the budget bill, Treasury Secretary Yellen sounded the alarm on the risks to the country if there were to be no agreement reached by the October deadline: a first-time default on the national debt. Congress is also considering the parallel bipartisan infrastructure bill this week.
